New River
This tributary to the Trinity is one of the most difficult rivers being rafted commercially today. Beginning at the wilderness boundary into the Trinity Alps and cutting through vertical walls with gradient of over 200 feet per mile make this remote canyon a trip only for the true Class 5 enthusiast. Scott River
This is the path less traveled. The Scott River originates on the northeastern flank of the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area, and drains much of the northern Marble Mountains. After meandering through the Scott Valley the Scott River cuts northwest, gathers momentum from side creeks and descends sharply on its way to the Klamath River. The water is a gorgeous turquoise and the wildlife is abundant. The Scott is a rare springtime treat with extraordinary whitewater rapids like Boulder Creek Falls, White House, Tompkins Creek Falls, and Schuler Gulch. The river is fast and furious and is recommended only for those who have prior Class 4 paddling experience. More Info
