THE SCOTT RIVER
This is the path less traveled. The Scott River originates on the northeastern flank of the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area, and drains much of the northern Marble Mountains. After meandering through the Scott Valley the
Scott River cuts northwest, gathers momentum from side creeks and descends sharply
on its way to the Klamath River. The water is a gorgeous turquoise and
the wildlife is abundant. The Scott is a rare springtime treat with extraordinary
whitewater rapids like Boulder Creek Falls, White House, Tompkins Creek
Falls, and Schuler Gulch. The river is fast and furious and is recommended only
for those who have prior Class 4 paddling experience.
SCOTT RIVER RAFTING TRIP
One Day Scott River Rafting Trip
We'll shuttle you to the put-in point (approximately 30 minutes).
There will be a river safety talk while we gear up for our Scott River rafting trip. The
first section of the trip starts out with a bang through several Class
IV & V rapids. We will stop for a gourmet lunch on a sandy beach with
breathtaking views of the canyon. The second half of the day continues
through many Class IV-V rapids and before being joined by The Klamath
the river mellows out for just a couple of miles. When we reach the take-out
on the green lawn of Steelhead Lodge the cold drinks will be waiting.
Two Day Scott River Rafting Trip
The first day of the trip will begin on the Class III+ stretch
of the Klamath. This section will be a warm up to the Class IV-V stretch
on the second day. We will enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by breathtaking
views. Further downriver we will pull into a gorgeous campsite and you
will have time to set up your sleeping site, fish, swim, or relax. The
evening meal, prepared by your guides in fireside dutch ovens will be
followed by dessert, campfire entertainment, and settling in for a night
under the stars. In the morning you will awaken to the wonderful smell
of coffee and breakfast. After eating this hearty gourmet meal we will
be off to Boulder Creek Falls whose rushing waters resound through the
canyon. Running several Class IV & V rapids is only part of this impressive
day. We will serve lunch at beautiful side stream before heading off to
the take-out where you may be able to enjoy pictures taken by a local
photographer while sipping on a cold drink.
